Who is the dog in John Wick: Chapter 4?
The new dog in John Wick: Chapter 4 is a Belgian Malinois. The animal has no name, in production notes the dog is simply referred to as a “loyal accomplice”.
The dog is an accomplice to a character known as “The Tracker”, also known as Mr. Nobody, played by Canadian actor Shamier Anderson.
Five dogs played the role at various points in the film, with Anderson explaining, “I had to be with the dogs every day. Each had a different personality, energy and ability. A dog tugged, another fetched. Not only did I get to know her, but I worked to understand her energy and build a credible relationship.”

Does the dog die in John Wick 4?
No, the dog does not die in John Wick 4. And that despite the fact that the animal is essentially an extension of The Tracker, he hunts his prey and is therefore almost constantly in danger.

“We wanted the dog to fit seamlessly into the story,” says director Chad Stahelski of the dog, “and not just have him do stunts and attacks. We liked the idea of a character who could literally track Wick down and smell Wick.”
The dog nearly dies in Chapter 4, but survives every close shave, with the title character even coming to his rescue in one particularly dramatic sequence.

He also brings humor to the plot by chewing on a character’s nuts during one scene before then peeing on their head. Good boy!
