Crypto-related job postings are up 804 percent since 2020: Indeed

As cryptocurrency becomes mainstream, industries and businesses are actively seeking job seekers. This has led to a surge in job postings, according to a new report from Indeed. According to the report, jobs related to cryptocurrency, blockchain and NFT have grown by 804 percent in the last two years (from April 2020 to April 2022).

The Indeed job portal report showed an acceleration in market demand. It should be noted that the increase in 2022 was 315 percent, while postings in April 2022 were 15 times higher than in 2019, underscoring the role of the pandemic in this continued growth.

Companies are actively looking for application developers, data engineers and full-stack developers. It should be noted that blockchain application developer is the top job role in this field. Crypto job roles appear to be one of the largest share of hiring in overall technology job roles, increasing from 41.22 percent in 2019-2020 to 67.48 percent in 2021-2022.

“As a technology-first economy, Indian companies are rapidly investing in technologies that will propel the country to the forefront of this new digital age. Technology hubs such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad continue to lead the way in hiring in the industry, while the national capital region is also seeing significant interest in the industry,” said Sashi Kumar, sales director of Indeed India, in a statement. “Blockchain promises to be an exciting new field of work and offers huge potential applications, the sector is still in its infancy,” added Kumar.

Crypto-related job postings with titles containing terms such as “bitcoin”, “ethereum”, “blockchain” and “cryptocurrency”. in the US grew by 395 percent from 2020 to 2021, outperforming the broader tech industry, which saw a 98 percent increase in listings over the same period, according to a recent LinkedIn report.

According to LinkedIn News, some of the most searched titles on LinkedIn included Blockchain Developers and Engineers. The San Francisco Bay Area, Austin in Texas, New York City, Miami-Fort Lauderdale and Denver were the areas with the most crypto job openings in 2021, LinkedIn told MarketWatch.
