Uganda won by 138 runs
Cricket Cranes head coach Lawrence Mahatlane asked for a response from his team after losing in the first ODI to hosts Qatar and he could not have gotten a better response than a huge 138-run win.
The visitors won the draw and opted to bat first but never got off to a great start, losing to Roger Mukasa and Ronak Patel by single figures, leaving Uganda 41/3 in the first 10 overs.
The repair work was done by a man who had to be beaten Kenneth Waiswa (39) and Riazat Ali Shah (25) who combined scored 61 for the fourth wicket.
Pascal Murungi came and went without much disruption to the scorers, but another player, Cyrus Kakuru (60 not out), raised his hand and anchored the innings to the end. He had support from Frank Nsubuga (22) and captain Brian Masaba (39) as the visitors scored 238/9 in their 50 overs.
The best performance for the Cricket Cranes was with the ball as they knocked out the hosts for just 98 runs. Waiswa (3/9) and Henry Ssenyondo (2/9) were among the wickets with good assists from Riazat Ali Shah (2/17) and Cosmas Kyewuta (1/25) as the Cricket Cranes leveled the series 1-1 .
Left-arm slow bowler Alpesh Ramjani, hitter Ronald Lutaaya and Juma Miyagi were the players who missed today.
There is little time to celebrate the win as the Cricket Cranes are in action for the third ODI against the hosts tomorrow.
