However, the reason for the brand’s recent growth can be attributed to Clark’s commitment to providing a compliment-giving educational service Jacksonville’s public school systems that offer programming classes to not only learn problem-solving and behavioral skills, but also to gain confidence and social interaction skills. Clark also hopes to contribute to the business community’s growing need for high caliber talent in the technology industry.
“Ryan is doing exceptionally well as a franchisee,” he said Justin Nihiser, CEO of Code Ninjas. “There’s often an obvious cause for what type of people fit well into the franchise model, and Ryan’s military experience is undoubtedly directly related to his work ethic, adaptability, tenacity and the way he embraces his responsibilities with pride.” .”
Clark’s involvement with Code Ninjas began long before he invested in the brand. Before taking root Jacksonville, Clark served as an active duty officer in the Air Force for nine years before transferring to the Reserves, where he currently serves part-time. The turning point in Clark’s career, however, was his entry into product management development, where he admitted he felt underprepared due to his lack of technology training. Concerned about his own personal abilities, Clark had his children’s best interests in mind, so he immediately enrolled them in Code Ninjas.
“I felt there was a huge gap in my children’s education and worried that they weren’t being equipped with the skills they needed to be successful in the real world,” Clark explained. “To be successful in this day and age, you need to have technical skills. I knew there must be other parents out there treading the same paths, which is what prompted me to get Code Ninjas involved Northeast Florida.”
Clark’s recently discovered passion for children’s education is not going to wane any time soon. The entrepreneur has plans to further expand the Code Ninjas brand Northeast Floridahoping to reach 10 Code Ninjas centers across the region and even expand its services beyond coding and potentially offering support for former ninjas entering the workforce or pursuing technology-specific educational goals like robotic certifications.
“My goal is to be the place where Florida kids become innovators and entrepreneurs and prepare for the future,” added Clark. “I want our ninjas to be at the forefront of space and technology in fifteen years, working on rockets – or even flying them!”
