Clinton, Lenawee Christian boys play football to a scoreless tie

Lenawee Christian's Elijah Brainard, front, controls the ball while Clinton's Brodie Stipe applies pressure during Thursday's game at LCS.

ADRIAN — Two of Lenawee County’s top boys’ soccer teams met on the field Thursday night and played to a goalless tie.

Neither the hosts Cougars (5-3-1) nor the Redwolves (9-2-1) could find the nets as the defense and goalies TJ Rutter (LCS) and Brandon Mannlein (Clinton) both played well in the net.

The two teams will not meet again this season and would need to win district titles to meet again since LCS is in the Hillsdale Academy district and Clinton is paired with Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central.
