CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) – Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to get a Christmas tree!
Some farms in the area have changed their hours this year, so even long-time residents of the area might want to double-check if their farm of choice is open if planning to go there.
Here are some places where you can pick up a Christmas tree in north-central West Virginia:
Hunter tree farm – According to pickyourownchristmastree.org, the U-Pick U-Cut farm is located at 1265 4-H Camp Rd. in Morgantown and is open seven days a week from Thanksgiving through Christmas from 9 a.m. until dusk and is adjacent to Camp Muffley .
Mulkeen Landscaping – This farm is located at 743 Sleepy Hollow Rd. in Independence. This year the opening hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are only from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Click here for directions.
Mt Zion Nursery – According to the Marion County company’s Facebook page, hours this year will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 25 and 26, then 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on November 27, and then Tuesday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m It offers U-Pick, U-Cut and pre-cut trees, according to pickyourownchristmastree.org.
cress farm – According to pickyourownchristmastree.org, the farm offers U-Pick U-Cut Christmas trees and provides saws. It is open from November 25th to Christmas Eve.
king trees – According to pickyourownchristmastree.org, this company offers U-Pick U-Cut trees, wreaths and branches, as well as tree tying, baling and pruning, and saws. It is located on Old Route 73 in Bruceton Mills.
Miller’s Christmas trees – This Terra Alta farm offers U-Pick U-Cut trees, as well as saws, balers, and burlap if the weather permits. It’s open during the day, according to pickyourownchristmastree.org, and is nine miles north-northeast of Terra Alta on Cranesville Road.
French Creek Christmas trees – This U-Pick U-Cut Upshur County Farm will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 4:30pm this year and they are asking customers to arrive by 4pm due to the early darkness and the time it takes to choose a tree, a bale and load it. Santa and Frosty visit the farm on December 10th.
Bob’s Christmas trees – This shop offers freshly cut local Christmas trees and wreaths in Randolph County. It is open Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 7pm and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm. It is located at 219/250 South-Beverly 5 Lane in Beverly.
How come tree farm – According to pickyourownchristmastree.org, the farm is located in Horner, Lewis County at 91 Tree Farm Rd. and is open daylight through sunset. It’s a U-Pick U-Cut farm with available saws and twine to tie down the tree.
The Andrick Steele Pine Patch – According to pickyourownchristmastree.org, this Barbour County farm is a U-Pick U-Cut site on Ten Mile Road, just over a half-mile off US Route 250 in Belington.
