Both drivers traded the lead until Max Verstappen arrived to put an end to the proceedings. The Dutchman, who had stomach problems before the GP, showed up at the first practice sessions and immediately showed his power. The two-time world champion took pole while Pérez was just below. just four tenths behind his teammate. It’s worth noting that Pérez didn’t feel entirely comfortable in the second part of the session after reporting some minor issues over the radio. Even so, The #19 Red Bull car still looks impressive.
