Friday Fright Nights

A full free Movie of the Day is posted to the JoBlo Movies YouTube channel every day of the week – but on Fridays it gets a little crazier and a little funnier. Start your weekend off right by being pampered Friday Fright Nights! Every Friday we take a look at a different genre film that you can watch in full for free on either the YouTube channel linked above or in the video embedded here.

This movie that we have for you this week is director David Del Rio’s comedy horror street head, which is part of my favorite horror subgenre: the slasher. While the title comes from a sex act that some of the characters unsuccessfully attempt at a few different points in the film, it’s also ambiguous, as there’s also a sword-wielding dude named The Executioner who roams the desert terrain around the former vacation destination of Isola Lake and beheads everyone he crosses his path. Yes, Isola Lake is not what it used to be. It’s not even a lake anymore. It’s all dried up.

I don’t usually need much justification for slashing in a slasher movie. There is no justification beyond madness and evil that is given in the original Halloween, and it worked wonderfully. but street head There’s a reason why The Executioner is killing people out there… and that reason takes the film to a whole different, bizarre and amusing level. I won’t reveal the details here, but I will say that The Executioner is not alone out there in the desert.

Road Head Friday Fright Nights

Directed by David Del Rio street head based on a screenplay by Justin Xavier. The film has the following synopsis:

Three friends take a road trip to the Mojave Desert, where their complicated relationships come to a breaking point when the group encounters a reclusive, murderous cult.

Elizabeth Grullon, Clayton Farris and Damian Joseph Quinn star as the three friends who make the bad decision to visit Isola Lake and they will join the cast of Clay Acker, Sierra Santana, David McKee (aka Misty Violet) and Ryan Sutton Stevens assists, Kevin Mouren-Laurens and Schoen Hodges with Adam Nemet as executioner. Towards the end of the film, we’re also introduced to a character played by Paul T. Taylor, best known for taking on the role of horror icon Pinhead Hellraiser: Judgment.

street head was the second feature film from creative team David Del Rio and Justin Xavier. Her first was the 2018 Christmas horror film Sick for toys, which was actually produced by JoBlo and Arrow in Head’s own JimmyO. However, JimmyO was not involved in the making of this film.

The beheadings in street head are a bit short and spaced out, and it’s not always fun to spend time with the characters, but there are a few laughs along the way. Stick with the drive and you’ll find things get even wilder in the second half.

So look street head – after all, it’s free! Then share your thoughts on the film by leaving a comment below or above on YouTube.
