Multan Sultans immediately cemented their place in the finals with an impressive 84-run win over Lahore Qalandars in qualifiers. A late boost from Kieron Pollard gave them a competitive 160-run total and with some top-flight bowling performances they bowled Qalandars to a paltry 76 runs. Playing his only second game of the tournament, Sheldon Cottrell was exceptional, taking 3 wickets. They played a good brand of cricket throughout the competition and totally deserved their place in the final. This is their third consecutive final and they are aiming for their second PSL title.
Lahore Qalandars cracked the running chase against Peshawar Zalmi in Eliminator 2, winning by 4 wickets to secure a place in the final. Mirza Tahir Baig’s half century put them in an excellent position and Sikandar Raza’s practical shot was just enough to win the game with 7 balls. They have already met Sultane three times in this tournament and won two of them. They lost far too badly in qualifying and look forward to providing a perfect response in the all-important final.
