
Central Illinois Holiday Events: November 30th
CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) – With so many events taking place throughout Central Illinois this holiday season, we’ve compiled a list of some of the funnest things to put on your calendar.
Each week we’ll be posting a new list of holiday events, so keep checking back for more events to celebrate New Year’s Eve with your friends and family!
Holiday events for this week:
Miracles on Neil Street at Everyday Kitchen

Open every Wed. – Sun. until 31.12
Everyday Kitchen features a holiday-themed pop-up cocktail lounge as part of the Miracle Bar experience. It is the only Miracle Bar location in Illinois. According to the Miracle website, the pop-up bars are “a Christmas themed pop-up cocktail bar serving Christmas cocktails in a festive setting. With cheesy holiday decor, expertly crafted cocktails and all the nostalgic energy of the best office party you’ve ever been to, Miracle is sure to get even the grumpiest grin in the Christmas spirit.”

The Nutcracker at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts
Urbana
Dec 1st: 7:30pm, Dec 2nd: 7:30pm, Dec 3rd: 2pm & 7:30pm, Dec 4th: 2pm & 6pm
Enjoy ETA Hoffman’s timeless story just in time for the holiday season. Filled with enchanted toys, a princely hero and imaginative characters, it’s a performance like no other. All performances of The Nutcracker are scheduled at the Tryon Festival Theatre.

Holiday window display in Allerton Park
Monticello
Dec 2nd: 5pm – 9pm, Dec 3rd – 4th: 10am – 5pm
The Holiday Showcase at Allerton Park and Retreat Center will feature 26 local traders in the historic 1900’s mansion. Opening night will also feature performances by Monticello High School madrigal singers from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The Monticello Area Arts Council will host a workshop on making natural ornaments in the mansion’s carriage house.

Bring the family to the 1 mile Holiday GLOW light show in historic Allerton Park.
Mistoe Market
Lincoln Square shopping mall in Urbana

December 18: Time TBD
An annual holiday tradition since 2017, Mistletoe Market features more than 60 vendors selling locally crafted goods and gifts. The event expanded to separate events on two separate weekends leading up to Christmas. Santa should be there too.

Holiday films in the drive-in cinema
Gibson City
2nd-3rd Dec 9-10: Doors open at 5pm, showtime starts at 6:30pm
There’s nothing like a wholesome Christmas movie. “The Polar Express” and “Elf” will be shown on December 2-3, and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” will be played on December 9-10. The event also features free gifts for the kids, a meeting with Santa and the Grinch, a lighted Lane Christmas exhibit, hot and cold treats, and special Christmas souvenirs.

Lee Greenwood at the historic Lincoln Square Theater
Decatur
8 December: Admission from 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m
Lee Greenwood with special guests The Greg Bickers Band will perform at the Historic Lincoln Square Theater. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold and the show is expected to sell out.
