Canada Day celebrations are scheduled for Bridge City after being canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tenille Arts will perform at the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival Free Stage in Victoria Park on July 1st.

Admission to the Arts concert is free, followed by a party in the park with DJ Charly Hustle, an award-winning Saskatoon DJ.

The evening ends with fireworks from the Broadway Bridge.

Bahamas announced to headline Saskatchewan Jazz Festival

Shannon Josdal, executive director of the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, said the group was “thrilled” with the event.

Canada Day Saskatoon project manager Shad Ali echoed this, saying the group is “thrilled” to continue the tradition.

“The opportunity has opened the door not only to bring the activities downtown, but also to strengthen the partnership and collaboration between Riversdale, Downtown and Broadway BIDs, Tourism Saskatoon and the City of Saskatoon in hosting the day,” Ali said.

The gates will open to the public at 4pm and Arts is scheduled to play at 6:30pm.

Organizer withdraws from hosting Canada Day celebration in Saskatoon

The event replaces the Optimist Canada Day Celebration previously held at Diefenbaker Park.

The Saskatoon Optimist Club announced in December that it was retiring from its hosting responsibilities after 54 years of organizing the event.
