The songwriter died on February 17 at the age of 49
An autopsy report for Kyle Jacobs — a songwriter and husband of singer Kellie Pickler — confirmed he died by suicide, according to Taste of Country.
Toxicology results showed that Jacobs – who died Feb. 17 at the age of 49 – had no drugs in his system at the time of death, according to the outlet. However, he had a history of “pseudoseicides, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use.”
According to Epilepsy.com, pseudoseizure or psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) are “attacks that may look like seizures but are not epileptic and are instead caused by psychological factors.”
In February, the Nashville Police Department confirmed in a statement shared with PEOPLE that the Emergency Communications Department was alerted to a home at 1:21 p.m. local time that day.

Nashville Police and Fire Department arrived at the scene to find the songwriter deceased, the statement said at the time. “His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.”
The Country Singer and SiriusXM’s The highway The 36-year-old host told authorities she woke up shortly before but couldn’t find Jacobs. She and her personal assistant called the police after being unable to open the door to a room in the house, according to the statement.
According to Music City Hitmakers, Jacobs moved to Nashville from Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2000.
He notably wrote Garth Brooks’ 2007 hit “More Than Memory” and Tim McGraw’s “Still.”
Jacobs had also worked with well-known artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Randy Travis, Scotty McCreery, Josh Kelley and Clay Walker.
Throughout his career, Jacobs has won a CMA Award, an ACM Award and has been nominated for a Grammy Award.

Pickler and Jacobs wed on January 1, 2011 in a surprise ceremony.
The couple, who had been together since 2008, got engaged on June 15, 2010, when Jacobs popped the question on a Florida beach.
“It was the most spiritual moment.” Pickler who got her start american idolsaid the proposal. “We would have gotten married that night if a preacher had walked by!”
