The Ardmore High School girls’ tennis team was hard to stop on Saturday as the Lady Tigers took first place at the Western Heights Tournament.
Summer Wisner had a top finish in doubles #2, while Amerie Kinney and Kebene Wolabu earned a hard-fought three-set win for first place in doubles #1.
In the No. 2 doubles, Tessla Chivers and Kylie McClendon drove to the championship where they defeated Mustang.
Joslyn Smith rounded out the group when she placed second in the No. 1 singles.
The Lady Tigers are back in action at the Ada Tournament on Friday, March 31st.
BASEBALL
Lone Grove 10, Crossings Christian 1
At Crossings Christian, the Longhorns were never behind on Saturday as they won their fourth straight game.
Cale McLean led the way as the senior went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and also hit seven strikeouts in four innings of relief. Ryder Cameron started the game, hitting four in three frames.
Deacon Singleton finished with two base knocks and drove in two runs while Cale Sudderth and Brody Harris each had RBIs.
Kyle Miler and Gavin Watkins each added two hits to round out the top performers.
Lone Grove (11-2) hosts Madill on Monday before a rematch on the road Tuesday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m.
Madill 9, Plainview 2
At Madill, a five-run second inning proved too much for the Indians to overcome on Saturday.
Plainview was narrowly defeated by a 6-4 lead but made six errors compared to Madill’s two.
Plainview’s Grant Graves and Waylon Wittliff each had RBI doubles, while Dane Dickerson and Cooper Flowers each had one.
The Indians (4-6) welcome Pauls Valley to town on Monday before heading north for a rematch on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
