APSU Men’s Tennis is on Sunday to play North Florida – Clarksville Online

Clarksville, Tennessee – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis team is looking to earn their first ASUN conference win in their Sunday 1:00 p.m. game against North Florida at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.
Austin Peay (3-8, 0-1 ASUN) fell in Friday’s season opener against Queens but is looking to earn his first win as a member of ASUN against North Florida (8-4, 1-0 ASUN).
Freshman Javier Tortajada claimed the Govs’ only point in the ASUN opening game, winning in straight sets from the No. 4 position. Tom Bolton and Giovanni Becchis also won their fifth doubles game of the season from the top position in Friday’s game against the Royals.
The Ospreys defeated Stetson 4-3 in their ASUN opening game and have won four of their last five matches entering Sunday’s competition.
Last season, North Florida finished fourth in ASUN standings and finished the season in the semifinals of the ASUN Championship against the regular-season champions on the Florida Gulf Coast.
