Respawn has announced that around 3,100 cheaters have been removed Apex Legends after his last wave of bans. Fraud is a constant problem with most live service titles, and companies are trying to address the problem in a variety of ways. Respawn, in particular, recently announced that the studio will be looking to notably improve its cheat detection mechanisms. The announcement of Respawn comes amid efforts to set the stage for an ambitious Season 17 launch. The coming season will show Apex Legends introduces its new Legend Ballistic after the developers decided to skip a new character introduction for Season 16, adding a new survival item and additional ping options. In addition, the developers stated that players could also expect improvements to the matchmaking and cheat detection systems.

In a tweet from his official account, Apex Legends announced that it has completed its lockdown and removed around 3,100 players from the game. According to the developers, it was discovered that the banned players colluded in ranked matches to earn ranked points by trading kills. As with other live service titles, Apex Legends has been plagued by numerous fraud-related issues since its launch in 2019. However, the studio hasn’t been shy about taking action on some Apex Legends Ban waves affecting high-level players. In any case, recent efforts suggest that Respawn may be taking a more active approach when it comes to cheaters.

Last week the developers detailed all the changes that are to come Apex Legends Season 17, with some of the more interesting tweaks coming to ranked matches.
