8 Reasons We’re Grateful to Live in Minnesota

Can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving tomorrow! I feel like this year just flew by! However, one thing that has never gotten out of my head is how grateful I am to live in Minnesota!

When I went to college in Iowa, I missed my hometown and my home state (Iowa, you have your moments). I haven’t lived in Minnesota that long since I graduated high school, so now I remember what I’m so thankful for here in Minnesota.

Aside from our insane winters, there are many things we are grateful for in Minnesota that remind us that this is a beautiful state to live in. Here are 8 reasons why I and the majority of Minnesotans are thankful for Minnesota (there are more, but here are the main ones):

  1. We can enjoy the beautiful landscape and greenery all year round

Minnesota has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, especially in the fall. Minnesota is also working hard to preserve our land and we are grateful to have 75 state parks!

  1. The Twin Cities

We don’t just have one great city, we have two! Not only that, but the diversity of people, experiences, culture, activities and loves in the Twin Cities is so great, how can you not love them?

  1. The small towns and countryside

However, we can never forget the small towns and countryside of Minnesota. We have to thank our farmers and those who work hard to make sure every city in Minnesota is a welcoming city. And it’s so cool to experience the twin cities and then drive down for an hour or two and see amazing Amish cities.

  1. We experience all four seasons in Minnesota

Are the winters a little too long here? Yes, but at least we experience every season to the fullest! Our winters may be cold, but our springs are beautiful, our summers are hot, and our autumns are refreshing.

  1. Minnesota Nice

You can’t forget Minnesota Nice. That feeling of welcome and goodbyes that last forever are things you can always count on.

  1. Target (and other Minnesota companies)

Hey, as someone who LOVES Target I had to put this in here. What I’m saying is that Target, which was founded in Minnesota, is great. But it also gives us time to recognize and thank other companies that started in MN, like General Mills and 3M.

  1. Minnesota has some of the best medical care in the country.

We also have to say thank you to the Mayo Clinic for a moment. The amount of research and discovery that has taken place as a result of healthcare in Minnesota is amazing and something we shouldn’t forget.

  1. The traditions of the Minnesotans

I feel like I had to end this! I mean you can’t go wrong with a state that has things like the Minnesota State Fair, Winter Carnival and Summer at the Lake, you just can’t go wrong!

All that’s left for me to do now is say thank you, Minnesota!
