Netflix movies are kinda bangers. I will say it! I try to see them in theaters whenever possible, but it’s nice to know that you can always tune in to Netflix and have access to good new movies, as well as old favorites and hidden gems. I mean… glass onion? The Old Guard? Conviction? To all the boys I used to love? These are just a few of my personal favorites, but they are *absolutely* cracker! Can’t wait to see what Netflix has in store for this year. Let’s move on to the best original films coming to Netflix in 2023 — or at least the ones I expect to see.
As always, Netflix original films are a good mix of prize-baits from Film Twitter’s favorite directors, as well as rom-coms that are happy to fire you up in the middle of the afternoon while you do random chores. There are also action films this year, regular old comedies and even some animated films and adaptations of children’s books for the whole family to enjoy. The only thing I’m missing from this year’s cast is musicals. Where are the musicals this year? We’ve been so spoiled tick tick… BOOM and Mathilde. Fingers crossed for something really good to hit the Netflix roster later in the year.
Anyway, time for the best Netflix original movies of 2023! That’s just a fraction of what’s coming to Netflix. Here’s what looks best so far.
